Sicky Swisher

Yeah I was. Sicky. Lemme tell you how it went...

Friday morning we were getting ready for work, Mom was putting a shirt on me and when the shirt went over my head, it smeared a lot of eye boogers and she was like whoa! She checked out my eye and realized I was squinting quite a bit. Well that didn't sit well with Mom at all so she called the Eye Dr, but she was out of town. So we had to make the dreaded call. Yes, the Vet. Ugh. There wasn't an available appointment 'till later that afternoon. So we had to wait. Mom didn't want to risk anything getting in my eye, since we spend our days outside, so I had to stay in my crate all day. Which was good because I was feeling kind of bleh. I was having trouble seeing, and walking around was a little scary since I was squinting anytime I opened my eye.

So Mister Vet checked me out. He said my eye was a little bloodshot and there was some inflammation. I don't know what 'bloodshot' means, but I pawmise I didn't shoot anyone or anything with my eye. Mister Vet gave me some eye drops... and I was sent home.

At home, it was a strict NO PLAY ZONE. Totally boring. But Mom knows best I guess. I didn't get a lot of sleep that night. I tossed and turned, switched beds many times, I just could not get comfortable. Saturday morning I didn't wake up so hot either. I don't think those eye drops were working. So Mom called the Vet back and explained the situation. Mister Vet said to go pick up some antibiotics. Mom knew right away that getting me to take antibiotics was going to be tricky, but I needed them. I stayed home that Saturday and got some much needed rest.

By Sunday I was feeling MUCH much better. I was back to my high energy self in the morning; body crawls all over Mom's bed when she first wakes up, following Mom like her shadow, crying for breakfast, and chasing Oakley for our stuffies.

Mom said "Omg Swisher you're being so weird!" But being weird is pretty normal around here, so she was happy and relieved.

I'm happy too that I feel better. Tomorrow I have a follow up appointment with the Eye Dr. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. I feel great, and that's all that matters.

Hope everydoggy and everybloggy is taking good care of themselves.

Lots of Licks,
Swisher

Over the river and through the Drive Thru...

... to Grandmother's house we go!

Ok so we didn't go over a river, but we did pass the San Luis Dam. Kinda looks like our ocean by our house. But Mom assured us it wasn't the ocean and it's not where the Sharkies live either. Dam. Er I mean darn.

But yes.. this past Friday, Mom packed up the car and said we were headed to Grandma's house! And this time Aunt V came too! Aunt V said she had to go somewhere close to Grandma's house, get dressed up, and go to see her Friend get married. We don't know what 'get married' means, but if it means we can go to Grandma's house, we wish everybody got married every weekend.

It's a long drive to Grandma's house, but we made a special pit stop at this Rally's Burger place. We like to participate in something called #CheeseburgerFriday4Joe, in honor of our friend Joe Stains who passed the rainbow bridge last month.

This one is for you Joe!

Cheeseburger Friday? Why didn't I think of this. This is brilliant!

We finally got to Grandma's house, where we got to run around and play wish Swisher's birth Mom, Penny and birth Sister, Diamond allll the time. This is the girls favorite game to play with us... 'get on top of the table 'cuz the boys can't get us!' Totally not fair, but still fun.

Look at Oakley running lightening fast!

We're so used to being inside dogs, that after awhile, we start to get bored outside and want to back inside, so we just wait by the door until someone let's us in. But of course, once we're inside, we want to go back outside. Drives Mom nuts! Bol.

We love Grandma and Grandpaw.. and they love us! We sure wish we lived closer.
We know we are Grandma's favorite granddogs ever!

Later that night we got to see fireworks! Yes it's a little too early for 4th of July fireworks, but this was in celebration of the graduates at the nearby high school. We got a perfect show in the front yard. Although we kept barking because we thought we were under attack! Bol.

Can't wait until our next Grandpawrent's house visit!!!

Two very important messages

Hey every blogger we are blogging today because we have two very important messages to share with every doggie. First off I would like to wish my girl Kitty a very happy birthday.

I really wanted mom to ship me to Alabama to be with you on your special day, Kitty. We could've gone to see another movie together.

But mom said "no way jose". I don't know who jose is, but in any case I had to stay home in California. We did send you a birthday package though and we really hope you like your gifts.

Are you going to have a pawty?

We hope you get some cake! Have a great birthday.

Lots of licks,
Oakley...(and Swisher)

Now we have some sad news. One of our favorite blog buddies has crossed the rainbow bridge. The one and only Joe Stains. He was one of the very first blogs we followed. He taught us many things, like every dog needs a cuz, even dogs need sleeping bags, and if the humans make you mad there's only one way to get them back- a stain!

Those are only a few of many things we will take from our friendship with Joe. He hadn't blogged much lately but we followed his tweets and he always made us laugh. We pawticipated in his fight against his tumor by taking part in what he declared 'cheeseburger Fridays'. So this Friday we will be having a cheeseburger in your memory Joe. We know you are having cheeseburgers over the bridge. We will miss you!

Lots of licks,

Swisher and Oakley
