Lick-o-Treat

I'm starting to think Howl-o-ween might be my new favorite holiday. Well I don't know about favorite, but it's just as fun as Christmas and Birthday time! I mean what other day do you get to keep the front door open and wait for kids to come and visit you? I couldn't wait for last night to come.

I wore my matching Pacman theme shirt today. So you KNOW I was ready.

When we got home from work with Mom, we changed into our costumes. Mom was styling with these cool Franky-stein socks.

Then we filled the candy bowl. But it wasn't only filled with goodies for the kiddies...
...it also had goodies for the doggies. Ya we threw in some cool stuffies for our neighborhood furiends. (I have enough toys, I'm secretly hoping we have left over candy. Bol.)

To get a little more into the Howl-o-ween spirit, I told Mom to put on the movie Ghostbusers.

The perfect movie I thought to have on in the background while Swish and I were on guard waiting for Lick-o-treaters. He guarded left. I guarded right.

We were being such good boys and not barking at any of the kids or strangers that came by that Mom and Aunt V shared their nachos with us and we got a special treat!

A Licky-pop!!!

OMD it was the best ever!

Mom was scared that Swisher was going to try and eat the entire thing whole. Stick included. I had to show him how to do it properly and explain if you just keep licking it, the candy last longer. Just goes to show you, big brother's don't always know everything. Bol.

Hope everyblogger had just as much fun as we did!

Lots of sticky licks,
Oakley

Pumpkins and Costumes

Happy Howl-o-ween everyone!

So the 3 things we know when our families start luggin' in those big orange stumps into the house are:

1. they smell funny
2. we lick 'em anyway and they taste like dirt
and 3. costumes are to follow.

Yup. It's that time of year again when all of our Moms, (well it seems mainly the Moms) love to go shopping, find the most ridonkulous thing they can find, put it on us and pull out the cameras. Hmph. At least we get treats. We're not sure why we don't get a say in our costumes, but this year Mom leveled with us and got us simple costumes. Thank Dog!

-Can you tell what we are? We're Jokes.

::Swisher shakes head in disappointment::
-Nooo Oak, we're JOCKS!

My neck is a little bit missing in this photo.
But I'm playing into my costume. A Varsity Football Jock.

Mom said this could be my professional senior photo...
...with my letterman jacket.

You're looking at two MVP's...

Our Team? The K-Nines, of course.

And those pumpkins we were talking about, we didn't get to eat any of it, so we let Mom and Aunt V handle all the carving. Mom comes up with the concepts, Aunt V does the carving. But Mom helps. And we help clean the floor if anything falls. Bol.

Can you try and guess what our theme is this year?

Hint #1: Cherries.

Hint #2: Ghosts.

.....it's PACMAN!

We're looking forward to handing out candy and seeing all the kids with cool costumes. Hope everyblogger has a fun and safe Howl-o-ween! Eat as much candy as you all can!

Oakley meets Leela

Hey out there... it's Oakley here...

First of all, let me apawlogize, 'cause it's been a while since we last posted. This time it wasn't our editors fault, but our own. We actually haven't had much to blog about lately. Nothing new. But like they say, 'no news is good news' right? Swisher and I are doing fine. The usual. Chasing each other around the house and fighting over stuffies and driving Mom completely nuts. Yup. The usual. Bol. But we have been keeping up with your bloggies, we pawmise.

But today was a little different. Aunt V came over and picked me up and said we were going to go pick up her little cousin, Leela, from school today. It was a surprise, Leela had no idea I was going to be in the car.

I was a good boy and waited patiently in the car until Leela got out of school.
This is Leela. Isn't she a cutie?

So for the next 3 weeks, Aunt V is picking up Leela and her older brother, Kinan, from school. But today Leela got out early, and we had an hour to spare. So Aunt V took us to the park. Yeah, US. We both got to go.

While Leela played, I patrolled. I found all sorts of new smells.

But I was also Security2.o
Me and Aunt V watched Leela play and made sure no one got hurt.

There were a lot of friendly kids at the park. And I'm a furiendly feller so I mingled with them and let them pet me. This little guy was funny. I could tell he wanted to pet me, and I was being super good so he knew I wasn't a mean dog. After a while he got the courage to finally pet me.

We left the park soon after that because it was time to pick up Kinan. Then the kids said they wanted a snack, so we drove to Costco. Aunt V wasn't sure if dogs were allowed around the food court, so I waited in the car.

But I probably TOTALLY coulda gotten down with them because at the food court there were puppies! Chihuahua Terrier Puppies! Some young kid was trying to find my 'cousins' new forever homes.

Leela with one of my cousins.
(you know 'cause they're Terriers. Bol.)

Oh well, maybe next time I can get down. I had a fun day anyway meeting new friends.

Hope everyblogger is well out there. Are you guys getting ready for Howl-o-ween? You know we'll be posting our costume and pumpkins pictures soon. So be on the look out! I'm actually happy with my costume this year. It's not no crazy uncomfortable get up Mom usually tries to put on me.

Lots of licks,
Oakley

Buggy-eyed Boys

Hey every other buggy-eyed doggy out there... it's me, Oak...

I'm here to tell you all how my day went. We didn't go to work with Mom because some gardeners were going to be there today. And since Mom said my eyes have been extra sensatory lately, she didn't want to take any chance of dust or dirt getting in my eyes. Aunt V spent the day here with us instead. It totally started off as a nice day. We were able to relax and go for a walk and play here at home. Later on, Aunt V said we were going to meet Mom. Just me and her. I thought cool! Something just for me to do. So I hopped in to the car.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes when we stopped!

It's that heaven place! Where they sell slurpees!
But to my total disappointment, we didn't stay. We didn't even get anything. Aunt V just had to put gas. Lame! So we kept driving.

Until we stopped here. Casa De Amigos! (That means 'Friend's House' for all you non-spanish speaking doggies. Bol) I thought, a friend's house? Pawesome! I love making new friends.

But to my disappointment twice... it was not a friends house. It was the Animal Hospital we were going to. ::gulp:: As soon as we walked in I started shivering, so Mom held me.
This was a new place. I had never been here before. Mom wanted to try out a new Vet. As I mentioned, my eyes have been super sensatory lately. My eyes are often red. But since this past weekend one of my eyes have been extra red. And that scared Mom. So off to the vet we go.

This is new Mr. Vet. His name is Dr. Wilson. He was very friendly.
Dr. Wilson gave us the thumbs up and mostly a clean bill of health. He said my eyes are probably red just due to allergies, which are common in buggy-eyed doggies and gave me some eye drops for them. But that wasn't all, I was due for a shot... so he took me to the back and let me have it. But I was a total tough guy. He said I took it like a champ.

After the visit, Mom went back to work, and Aunt V took me back home. I crashed out once I got into the car. Man, Vet visits sure are tiring.

But since I was such a good boy at the Vet, Aunt V stopped to buy me a cheeseburger!
But I'm a nice guy, so I split half with my brother.

Hope everyone is well out there. Take care of those eyes!

Lots of licks,
Oakley

Belated Bully's

So along with my totally pawesome doughnut bed.. my girl Kitty said she was sending me some extra bully sticks on the side in a separate package.

So when Mom said this was for me other day, I knew it had to be from her.

It came with a classic hand made card and 4 bully sticks!
2 for me... "To the Birthday Boy"...
Ya that's me. I'll take that!

And 2 for the Swishman, because the girls are so thoughtful!
Thanks Coco for remembering this furry fella!

You girls sure know a way to a guys heart. Treats! Bol.

I DOUGHNUT believe my eyes...

...but check out this package that's ALL for me!

We came home to a missed noticed from Mr. UPS Man saying there was a package for 'Oakley' and we needed to go claim it. Mom had some fun explaining to Mrs. UPS distribution center Lady that the package was for her dog. She thought for a minute she was going to have to show some sort of ID. What was she going to do? Take me to the post office and show proof of my dog tag? Bol. In any case... I got my birthday package from my girl Kitty!

Kitty gave me a hint at what it could be... she said it was all the rage in the dog world right now. So I was super excited!

What is it???

OMD it looks like a big donut!

It IS a big doughnut! A doughnut pet bed!
So comfortable and so pawesome!
My girl sure does have great taste! Literally.

Now all we gotta decide is if we want to keep it in the living room for us to snuggle on...

...'cuz Swisher sure likes it too!

...orrr put it in my crate so only I can use it and sleep with it every night. I love to curl up with pillows and blankets in my crate. So this would be a pawesome pillow to curl up with. I can picture the sweet dreams I'm gonna have on this bed! Thanks to my sweet girl. She sure knows how to make this guy happy!

Mom says after we get baths, then we'll decide where to keep it. How rude!

Thank you sooo much Kitty for the pawesome birthday gift! I pawsitively love it and can't wait to use it!

Lots of extra thank you Licks,
Oakley
