Swisher got Ouchies

Hi pals,

Swish here today... This is my asking-for-good-thoughts-and-good-juju-face because I have ouchies. The other day I jumped up onto Mom's bed and the comforter slipped and I sorta slipped with it and I yelped really loud. It scared Mom, and myself as well. Mom came to pick me up and check me out to see what the problem was, but I was fine in her arms. As soon as she tried to set me down, on the bed or the floor, I would cry. Something was hurting.

So Mom called Aunt V and they took me to the Vet.
Hi Doc. My name is Swisher 'Wild Child' Sandoval. Don't take the nickname lightly.

So the Doc examined me. Checked my heartbeat, breathing, my teeth, my gums, my front legs, my hind legs, all four paws, and even took my temperature (You know how fun that was! Not!) Couldn't find anything wrong. He didn't feel any breaks, and I didn't whine or whimper or cry during the examination either. The Doc said because my adrenaline was high right now, I probably wasn't feeling the pain much. And it could possibly be a 'soft tissue injury'. He said he would prescribe me some anti-inflammatory and pain medication for later and hopefully that will help. And since we were behind on our shots, Mom suggested we do those now since we were here. But last time I got my shots, I had a bad reaction to it and my face swelled up and it turned red. So Doc said he could give me a Benadryl shot first. He took me to the back, and when we came back, he said I did very well. So Aunt V gave me some treats.

And some water, due to my breathing was being a little cray cray because I was all hyped up from this vet visit.

After about 5-10 minutes, I think the Benadryl started to kick in because I started to calm down and relax, and that also made me feel my ouchies a little more. I didn't wanna jump onto bench again or put too much pressure on my hind legs. Even sitting was a little uncomfortable.
 Where is this doctor at? Let's get these other shots over with.

The Dr came back and gave me 2 more shots, that I took like a champ! I guess it pays to have a little extra weight on, those shots barely hurt at all. Although the Dr did say I should go on a diet. But I say diet-shmiet. BOL.

And guess what? Aunt V works at a Vet Lab, and she has Oakley and I under her file, so she gets discounts on pet visits. Saved Mom some moolah. Thanks Aunt V!

Mom ended up taking the rest of the day off from work so she could make sure I reacted okay to the shots. We got home and Mom gave me medicine and took real good care of me. I was a little fussy at first. Was uncomfortable and sometimes a little whiny when my ouchies would hurt me. But after a while, and when my medicine started to kick it, I finally got some rest.

I have to take medicines for a few days. And hopefully whatever my ouchie is, will heal on its own. I know I'll be okay, but good thoughts are always appreciated. Oakley is bummed because we can't play or run around. So he's bored out of his mind. Wait until he hears Mom is planning on taking him to the Vet next week for his shots.
::half asleep:: My what?!

Lots of licks,
Swisher

January Chewy Review

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for letting us introduce our friend Sophia. She really liked coming on here and saying Hi to all of you. We hope she comes back for some more fun posts. We let her have the lime light for a little, but we still needed to do our January Review for Chewy(link).

I'll sit and stand guard from here Swish, you dig in.

  Don't mind if I do.
Take a sniff Oak. I think you'll like what you smell.

 I pawsitively agree.

Ok can we open them now? Let's try these bad boys!

 They're scrumptious!

 I'm concentrating myself real hard for this half way sit position. Focus, focus...

Yes! The taste of sweet victory in my mouth!

REVIEW:

We received an 8.8oz bag of the Science Diet Fruity Snacks(link). This particular bag was the Apple and Oatmeal recipe. Mom was happy we liked these treats because of the quality of products used in them. Science Diet uses all natural ingredients, with no corn, artificial flavors or colors. And that combo of ingredients make for a healthy and tasty snack for us. This size bag was priced online at $4.99, which we think is a great deal. Totally something in Mom's budget range. We hadn't tried Science Diet products yet, and so far we enjoy them.

The bag comes with perfect size treats for us medium sized dogs. There's plenty to share. And it comes with a resealable bag. Science Diet also has other flavor and assorted treats; such as Cranberry and Oatmeal treats, training treats, protein flavored Jerky Strips, and even veggie chips! Something for everybody.

Thank you Science Diet for the great product, and thank you Chewy for giving us another opportunity to give our opinion.

Lots of satisfied licks,
Swisher and Oakley

Our Furriend Sofia's Chewy Review

Hey Evfurrybuddy!

This blog post is way over due, but that is totally one of our secretaries fault. If you have read our blog for awhile, you may know that we get to spend a lot of our time at our Mom's work. Over the summer they lost their cat of many years. They decided to help heal their hearts and get a new kitten from the SPCA. We would like to introduce you to our new pal Sofia.

She is an indoor kitten and if she sees us through the door, this is usually the hissy face she makes at us. BOL.
 Ewww boys that drool!

She loves our Mom though, and Mom loves her. As you know we do reviews for Chewy (link). And we've reviewed a couple of Orijen items for doggies. Well when Mom received an email about a new Orijen cat treat up for review, she asked if we could have Sofia try it. Mom was used to her bosses other cat who ate anything and everything they put in front of her, but Sofia is SUPER picky about treats and food. So we figured she'd be a good subject for this review. We asked if she wanted to help us out and she jumped at the idea!

This is not only a new product for Chewy, but for Orijen as well. Orijen wanted these treats to remain true to their mission: 100% meat, 100% fresh ingredients, Freeze-Dried to preserve taste and amazing palatability in 5 great flavors.

Pictured is a sample bag of the Orijen Original Freeze-Dried Cat Treats (link). The treats come in a 1.25 oz bag and range from $5.49-5.99. Not bad for over 100 cat treats.

She loved them! We have a few bags of treats that she's never even been tempted to try, not even one treat we've tried to feed her. But as soon as she got a whiff of these Orijen treats, she kept looking for more! We don't know a lot about Cats, but we know treats and these have got to be delicious if Sofia liked them. So straight from Sofia, kisses to Orijen and Chewy for a great Cat treat!

Licks and Purrs,
Sofia

Hello 2014!

What's up everyblogger?! We haven't talked to you since..last year! (December, Bol)

Happy New Year! How is everyone doing?

In our last post we said our New Year's resolution was going to try and come on here more. Shame on us, we already got off to a bad start. That's partly our fault, and partly our staff's fault. But let's blame the staff since they are the ones with the internet access. Bol.

Something else we failed at was we never got around to posting our Christmas blog. Now we know its waaaaaay late. And everyone looked like they had a barkulous Christmas, but since we didn't get the chance, we thought that maaaayyybe, just maybe, you guys were still interested? I mean because we kind of don't have a whole lot of new stuff going on right now anyway. Except for maybe these new winter hats Mom got us.

Which were the props we used for our Christmas cards this year that we sent out to family.

How do we look?

  Mom and Aunt V took us to the park and we took our Christmas pictures there.

I'm usually not one for hats, or really anything near my head, but I actually don't mind this one. It keeps my ears warm.

So flashback to Christmas....

We had two Christmases. First one was at home with Mom and Aunt V. This is us posing with our BIG Christmas tree with our Christmas pajammies. This was our first year having a big tree. Usually we have a tiny tree on a table. But somehow Aunt V convinced Mom to get a big tree. Bol.
 But big trees do fit a lot of pressies underneath!

In each of our stockings we got something from Mom. Swisher got treats, because he loves treats. And I got a stuffie. Because I love stuffies.

Next this big bag was to both of us, from Mom and Aunt V. They got us a Charlie Brown stuffie each!

Mom got us new San Jose Sharks colored collars.

And also from Mom, a big box of treats!

 Then Aunt V said her Grandma Gordy sent us this stocking full of fun toys!
 I got right to work!

This big present was from Aunt V.

It's a new toy box!
Perfect for all our new toys!

A couple days later, we headed to Grandma's house to go visit Mom's family. We saw Grandma and Grandpa and we got to visit with Swisher's pug Mom Penny and Swisher's pug sister Diamond.

Grandma said of course she got us a present too... So I dove head first!

 Dino stuffies!

We asked Grandma if we could play right away.

 Some action shots.

Grandma had dressed Penny and Diamond in these skirt looking, shall type, Christmas collars.
They had little bells on them and they would jingle when ever they would walk.

Then Mom and Grandma put them on us. And we jingled everywhere we ran. It sounded like Santa Paws was coming to town. Bol.
Grandma and Mom joked about using these collars for next year's Christmas cards. Although they were pretty and festive for the girls... but not so much for us. I don't think so Grandma! Bol

We had a fun Christmas and a good time visiting with family. By New Years Eve we were back home watching the ball drop. And then 5 minutes later, we were asleep.

We apawlogize for the super late post. But thanks for reading. We also wanted to mention that our girlyfriends, Kitty and Coco, sent us a Christmas package as well. But we didn't take many pictures. But if you're reading this girls, we're going to be sending you a package very soon.

Catch ya later blogger furiends. We want to introduce to you a Kitty Cat friend of ours named Sophia real soon.

Lots of licks,
Swisher and Oakley

December Chewy Review

Hey everyblogger...

Boy have we been MIA for a while. Our 'Talk to the Paw' crew members are slacking on posting. Maybe that should be a New Year's resolution for us, post more often. Bol.

We're cutting it under the wire here. Our apawlogies for taking so long with our December Chewy review. December was a hectic month for us with the holidays and all. But good ol' Chewy stays working and we received our December box.

Early Christmas present!
We got... Smooches. We got the chicken and cranberry recipe. They also have other flavors with different names. They have Pecks, which are buffalo and blueberry. And they have Nuzzles, which are duck and cherry.

(In case highlighted word above doesn't work:  http://www.chewy.com/dog/honest-kitchen-smooches-chicken/dp/35485 )

 Clever name because I wanna smooch this box!

 And they even come heart shaped.
We heart you Smooches, even though we haven't tried you yet. You smell good. Check out our sitting patiently skills.

And the test....

 We love em! Taste like home cooking!
This was Aunt V's attempt at us trying to Smooch like Lady and the Tramp. I think she forgot we're brothers. Bol.

THE REVIEW:

Pros:
  1. Made with human-grade ingredients. (No wonder they taste like home cooking)
  2. Healthy; No corn, wheat nor soy. Organic.
  3. For the dieting dog, each treat is only 2.3 calories.
  4. Reasonably priced. You pay for quality and ingredients.
  5. Made in the USA.
Cons:
  1. We're nit-picking, it doesn't come in a resealable bag.
  2. We probably will run out soon. Bol.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We also want to share an amazing and a very unexpected surprise we received. Without word or notice, Mom came home to a package from Chewy on our doorstep and wasn't sure what it could be. Once opening, two portraits were inside. One of a Boston Terrier who looks just like Oakley. And one of a black Pug, that looks just like Swisher.
Mom was blown away by the art and was left speechless at the thoughtfulness. We thought they were pretty pawesome as well.
We want to say thank you SO much from the bottom of all our hearts, for the incredible gifts Chewy. And thank you to the artist. Great work.
Smooches to everyone who was involved.
Yes, Chewy, we loved them!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to review.
Lots of satisfied licks,
Swisher and Oakley
