Better late than never...

Better late than never?....that's what mom told us when we asked her why she hadn't blogged about what we did last week Friday. And for that matter why we haven't blogged since MAY?!?! We are sorry guys' our mom is such a slacker, that does it no treats for her!

Anyways, we did something super fun last week and we finally convinced mom to blog about it, we got to go to Oakland and see the A's play baseball!! It was A's Dog Day at the ball park, over 600 dogs were there. The A's played the Chicago White Sox and each dog day ticket helped raise money for Dogs4Diabetics.

On our way up to Oakland we got stuck in some lovely bay area traffic, but we heard there was costume and trick contests before the game started.

When we finally arrived we went and got checked in by the vet and then lined up for the parade around the field!! While we waited we made some friends.
We were wearing our new Oakland A's jersey's.
(Mom never wanted to spend the $ to buy us jersey's before, but she found them @ Petco on super clearance for $7 each!)

There were so many different kinds of dogs there that we got to see and there were A LOT of pugs. We were looking through all our pictures and we had to post the one above; not only because of all the pugs, but you guys' might recognize the pug in the skull harness is non other than Puglet from The Daily Puglet, the spotted dog is not his brother Dutch but Dutch was there too. Our mom was to embarrassed to ask if that was 'Puglet and Dutch' but it was pretty cool to find that we had a picture of him anyway.

As we walked around the warning track, or for all non-baseball fans, the dirt around the field there were people there to make sure we didn't walk on the grass. But being the guy that I am, I totally snuck a pee on the grass!! Auntie V almost got a picture of me in action but I knew I had to rush the job before I got yelled at. So heres a picture of me just as I finished up, pretending like I did nothing wrong.

As we walked by the A's dugout we saw one of our new favorite A's players, Coco Crisp. Yes that's really his name! BOL.

After the walk around the field we went up to our seats to enjoy the game. We didn't get any beer, we had to stick to the water from our cool water bottle mom got us at dollar tree, but we did get to snack on nachos! We didn't get any pictures of that but believe us they were awesome. We also got goodie bags with A's bandanas, treats, and other cool stuff just for going to the game.

Swisher did more people watching than baseball watching, this was his failed attempt at starting the wave. BOL.

As the sun went down Oakley got cold so he got wrapped up in the blankets mom brought. But he was totally fine with that.
The A's lost 5-1 but it was still fun to be there and not stuck at home for once!

THE END!

Pizza and WINGS!!! Birthday Post

Hey everybody Swisher here, today is my birthday!! I am now 4 years old!! I can hardly believe it, time just seems to fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was a tiny little guy new to the world.

And now I am a big boy. Getting my party on with this dorky birthday hat mom always makes us wear.

Mom said we could do presents first. YAY. This card I got from my Mom and brother...

this card I got from my auntie V...

I got treats!!! Yummmm.

Mom and Oakley also bought me an Oakland A's mat for my water and food bowls. And an AmigoTrio pack of toys.

My aunt V got me a collar that says Bad to the Bone, my brother got one too even though its not his birthday.

This is me happy after opening my gifts.

Then it was time to eat. Mom said I could choose whatever I wanted to eat for my party and I choose pizza and wings. I wanted to chomp on wings like the Sharks are doing to those Detroit Red Wings. NOM NOM NOM.

We got pizza, and not just crust like we normally do. Mom also got us some cool party plates to eat off of.

Delicious, I wish it could be my birthday everyday!

Oh and we had dessert too!! Mom went to my favorite store Pet Food Express and got me pizza and soda pup cookies.

I am stuffed and tired from all the partying. I'm going to rest up before the hockey game starts because I have a lot of cheering to do. Hope everyone else is having a great day.

Wag N' Walk 2010

We hope everyone is having a pawesome weekend. We are spending our Sunday relaxing from yesterday. Yesterday we did the annual SPCA Wag n' Walk. This was our second year and once again it was soooo much fun and we raised $$ for a good cause. Our team was us (Swisher and Oakley) Mom, and our Aunt V. We raised $250 for homeless pets. Mom and Aunt V got some cool shirts and we got a back pack and a bandana, some tennis balls, and lots of treats during the walk.

I kept trying to figure out how to get past this fence and to the beach.

I liked resting on this rock. We took a lot of breaks because I was breathing pretty heavy.

We enjoyed a beautiful view of the ocean.

We saw Super Dog. Cool costume!

When this guy got tired he got to ride in style!

We met some new friends.

She's cute and she gave me a kiss!

These guys looked tough.

One final rest before we headed back to the park.

They gave the human snacks too, my Aunt V shared a chips and a strawberry with me.
There was a small agility course set up and mom took us each over to try it out. She wants to sign Oakley up for agility. Well, Oakley wouldn't do it at all, he was scared of everything. But I did it!!! Mom was soooooo super proud of me.

Even the tunnel she thought no way he won't do it, but I showed her I'm not scared!

We had a great time. We are resting up today and getting ready for Game 2 of the Sharks vs Red Wings. The Sharks won the first game and we are ready to see them win tonight. GO SHARKS!

Shaaarrrrrks!

What's up every doggie? Oak and Swish here! So as you know from reading our blog we are pretty big sports fans. Mostly baseball and football, but our mom has a new obsession, like she needed another one?!??! She likes Sharks, yeah like the ocean creature. She even has a shark tattoo! We know, she's a weirdo!
Anyhowl, she never really watched much hockey but she'd watch a little here and there, and she was into it during these past olympics so she thought it was about time to catch a San Jose Sharks game. So a few weeks back she did and she totally loved it! She's been to two more games since, the last one being Game 5 of the first round playoffs. She's completely obsessed now, we don't mind terribly because since San Jose isn't too far away we aren't left alone long. The only thing is now she calls Oakley's crate the penalty box and if we misbehave she says we're going in!
Well they made into round 2 of the playoffs and have been awaiting the results of other games to see who their next victim opponent will be. Well we just saw that it will be our buddy S-Dog's (Salinger) Detroit Red Wings. They played a really good game tonight but we hope our Shark's can beat them. Our mom has tickets to Game 1, but the schedule isn't announced yet as to when it will be. So S-Dog we just want to wish you luck and say GO SHARRRKS! If you would like to make a friendly wager, just let us know. We can shake virtual paws on it.

(Wow my eye is totally teal in this picture, mom's obsession has passed on to us!) My playoff beard is white. Mom says I look distinguished.
We hope our mom buys us some jersey's or San Jose Shark's collars! She probably won't but we can hope.

It's Not Easy Being Green...

It's not easy being green; but we sure try. For our Earth Day post we are going to talk about what we do for our part of saving the Earth. We aren't as green as our buddy Stubby, but we always get great ideas from him, so if you ever want to know how to do more check out his blog!

Our mom uses her reusable bags when shopping. She is becoming a freak about them, she has a bunch and she has been giving them as gifts to people too. Every bag counts guys' so always try and use reusable bags to help our planet.

Today she bought a small size one at Whole Foods designed by Sheryl Crow, for only .79 cents. And she got a free regular size bag for shopping there during Earth Day!

Her favorite bag she bought when she went to watch her Oakland A's play baseball.

Mom's gift to our house for Earth Day was a Brita Pitcher, she hadn't been buying small water bottles for a very long time because she has a Sigg but she had been buying gallon size water. She decided it was time to stop that, so we have a Brita now and we LOVE it. We are now getting our water bowel filled with filtered water too! (mom read somewhere that filtered water might help with Oakley's tear stains, we don't know if it's true but we're hoping).
Mom will use any excuse to spend money. BOL.

Mom picked up this magazine while out today. The cuties on the front grabbed her attention, but it looks like it will have some articles on natural and GREEN stuff for us doggies so if she reads something interesting she will definitely share.

Happy Earth Day!

Lots Of Licks,

Oakley and Swisher
