Spookify

Mom has been spookifying our apartment. There are strange things with big eyes that light up and spiders crawling all over our bookshelf and front door.

And a green monster hanging by our light outside.

Plus there's this very suspicious looking person in our window, that won't leave!

But once Mom put these matching skeleton T-shirts on herself and Swish, we started to get the idea. Howl-o-ween is coming up!

We look forward to Howl-o-ween. The only part I don't look forward too is the costume part. Wearing funny clothes and costumes are not my 'bowl of water'. Swisher doesn't mind as much. He knows that if he pawticipates with whatever Mom decides, treats are involved.

You can't really tell in this picture, but Swisher's T-shirt glows in the dark. That's kinda cool.

I don't have a skeleton shirt. But Swish and I do have matching skull and cross bone tanks.
That of course we had to wear. Hmph.

Notice I'm not all that excited about it.

One thing I was happy about was, Aunt V bought us some Howl-o-ween stuffies...
...and her and Mom went to go pick out pumpkins.

I kept Skully.

Swish got Franky.

We try to do a theme every year. This years theme is Super Heroes. So Aunt V came over to carve our pumpkins. Can you guess which Super Heroes Swish and I are going to be?
 YUP! You guessed it!

Swisher is Batman.. or Batdog or BatPug.. whichever.

And I'm Spiderman... or SpideyDog.

I was sooo happy to know that I wasn't going to have to wear some crazy SpideyDog costume. I'm happy they're are just T-shirts. I can live with that. Thank dog Mom finally figured out I'd be a better model with simpler costumes.

Mom and Aunt V are going to pawticipate in our theme as well. Those other two pumpkins are theirs.
One will be Captain America, and the other will be Superman.

Now we're ready for Howl-o-ween and those trick-or-treaters.
If we could only get rid of this guy...

Crusty Paws

Sometimes when I feel like cuddling, I climb on top of Mom's lap while she's watching TV. As sneaky as I can, I scoot myself up all the way up to her chest. But sometimes on my journey, I hear "Ow Swish!". Now I know I'm not the skinniest dude, but I'm not that huge, so I know it's not that I'm too heavy. I finally asked Mom why she kept 'ow-ing'. She said my paws hurt her. They're crusty and rough against her skin.

Mom heard about BAG BALM from another blog and that it was good for crusty stuff. Like dry noses and paw pads. She found some at the store and thought she'd try it out on us. The other night, it was time to experiment on me.

These were the tools.
 Yes, those are dog socks.

Mom tricked me! She asked me to lay down on the bed like she was going to give me a belly rub, but rubbed that stuff on my paw pads instead and slipped on these silly socks!
Even used masking tape to make sure they wouldn't come off.

It's kind of hard to walk around in these.
I'm high stepping like a Champion Clydesdale!

Swish: How long do I have to wear these things?
Mom: I'm going to leave them on all night. I know you, you'll just lick your paws clean. We're going to bed now anyway.
Swish: All night?! What if they cut off my circulation?
Mom: They won't. I didn't put them on that tight.
Swish: Not to you.

Wish me luck furiends.

Lots of licks,
Swisher

Pee.S. She put some one my nose too, but I licked that off. Bol.

Pee.pee.s. In the morning, I only had one sock one. Bol!

Sunday Funday at the park

Hey bloggers...

We've been having some crazy nice weather, when usually it starts to cool down about this time. So we took full advantage of that this past Sunday. Mom took us to our new favorite place, the dog park.

This is the crew. The usual gang that's around.

After we say Hi to everyone, we like to do our favorite things. But when a new furiend walks through the gate, I like to be the first one to greet them. Mom calls me the Walmart Greeter. I say "Hi, I'm Oakley. Welcome to the dog park."

My favorite thing is to get Mom or Aunt V or really anyone with thumbs, to throw me the frisbee to play fetch. Typically I bark at you until you pick it up, then I can play tug with you, and then you can throw it for me. Bol.

I could do this all day.

 Hey, she took my frisbee!

This folks, is what we call a Frisbree Hoarder.

Swisher's favorite things to do is chase me while I chase the frisbee...

...and to roam around and explore and mark everything.

Once you become a regular at the park, you NEED to know this guy. We call him, The Cookie Man.
He always has a bag of dog cookies with him, and shares with everyone.

Until next time dog park.

Night walk and shadows

Hi Furiends...

We've been bad bloggers lately. We get around to commenting once and a while, but when it comes to us blogging, it's been over a month. We haven't had much going on. Mom has been taking us to the dog park a lot. Oh! But our neighbor dude did come over last weekend to be our Manny. Like our boy babysitter. Is that what you call boy babysitters? Well he's not really a boy. He's a man. But not like an old man. Just like, a dude. A cool dude. Anyway, he walked us one night when Mom and Aunt V went to an Oakland A's game (we won't get into how they didn't take us). But back to the dude, his name is Rich. Mom said it was a trial run because he's probably gonna Dude-sit us again soon for Aunt V's birthday weekend. As long as he supplies the treats, we'll be good.

But other than that we've just been doing the usual. Yesterday we went for a night walk. And not just a pee walk. A long walk. Mom said it had something to do with this new Nike Fuel Band collar that she got for her wrist and it gives you points. All we know is, if there are collars out there that will give us treats instead of points, sign us up!
It was a nice night out. Clear night sky.

Look at me running fast and my freaky eyes!

Hey there's someone next to me!

Even my shadow has pointy ears!

Gee thanks taxi for coming AFTER our walk!

It was a long walk, but a fun walk. We're up for another one.
And in better news, Mom reached her GOAL!
Way to go Mom!

My Birthday loot from Kitty

This big package came this weekend and Mom said it was for me from my girl Kitty. Half of my body could fit in there, it was that big. I gotta see what's in here!

 I smell something good!
Wow! There's a lot of stuff in here!

My sweet girl always sends me a hand made card. Look how cute she is on the cover.

They say the way to a Dog's heart is through his stomach, and right she is. My sweetheart sent me some sweets! Dessert! A brownie sundae with a cherry on top squeaky toy!...

...and OMD a Pop Rocket squeaker toy!

She sent me some PupCorn. Can you believe I've never had any before? Where have I been in all my 4 years of dog living?? SO GOOD!

Kitty mentioned she almost got me the same Nylabone Mom got me for my Birthday. Thanks Kitty for this different one. This one is just as cool! Can't wait to open this!

She also sent me this fun chewable ball. I love fetch. And I love playing with balls!

And two Bullysticks!

 And two squeaker stuffies!
Sure Swish, I'll share with you.

Man, I got so much stuff!
Thank you Kitty, my girl! You always send me stuff I've never seen or tried!
I love everything!

Lots of licks,
Oakley

I am 4!

What do these two pictures mean?
 PIZZA PAWTY!!!

Yup that's me chomping away on some pizza right out of Aunt V's hand.

And I can get away with it because it was my BIRTHDAY on Sunday! I turned 4! Every year on me and my brother's birthdays, we get pizza. We LOVE pizza! We even get our own slice on a plate, and not just scraps from the table. But Mom had to cut it in little pieces, because she said knowing us, we'd probably eat the slice whole and choke! No choking allowed on Birthdays. I think it's a good rule too.

After pizza was presents. This one is from Mom. She calls me and my brother Thing 1 and Thing 2. Bol.

Her and Swish got me a card.

But inside the bag was better stuff. A new bag of Beggin' Bites and a Thing1Thing2 container to put my treats in. Pawesome!

Then she got two Boots & Barkley stuffies with balls in them and tails. I know the blue one is for me. The pink one, that's for my brother. He has a thing with bright colors. Whatever.

A new Nylabone. This one curves, for better grip. Neat.
And what she pawmised me, a new Kong Wubba! The last Wubba I got was from my girlyfuriend Kitty for Christmas. Those things sure are tough, it took me this long to destroy it. It is a worthy opponent for me and a great toy!

Next were presents from Aunt V.  A blue bag, my favorite color, with a card on top so I can't see inside.
Two dinosaur stuffies. Cool. I'm guessing this bright orange one is for Swish. That's fine, I'll share.

And whoa what is this?! A glow-in-the-dark football! PAWESOME!! It's almost football season too. Perfect timing.

Also a bag full of treats. Not just any treats. Dessert treats.

Chocolate Chip cookies (with carob chips of course), Cream filled cookies, and peanut butter cookies!

I got so many cool toys, I didn't know what to play with first. So I played with two toys at once and took turns. Bol.

I had a great birthday. Especially since Mom forgot the Birthday hat she makes us pose with every year. Thank Dog. I wasn't about to remind her either. Bol.
